Avondhu Blackwater Partnership jobs skills workshops being offered in both Fermoy and Mallow
Job skills workshops will be running in both Fermoy and Mallow in September. In Fermoy, they will run Friday 13th, Tuesday 17th, Friday 20th, Tuesday 24th and Friday 27th, with an additional one-to-one personalised mock interview per participant.
The Mallow sessions will take place over five mornings per week on Friday 13th, Monday 16th, Friday 20th, Monday 23rd, Friday 27th and then their one-to-one mock interviews.
On completion, participants will have increased self-awareness, career preparation skills, career planning, confidence and a greater understanding of what employers want.
I.T. SKILLS
This year Avondhu Blackwater Partnership (ABP), who are running the training, have also added basic job seeking IT skills which help individuals who might not have made job applications by e-mail before or searched online for opportunities. It will include techniques in how to use a computer to promote yourself, how to use the Internet in a proactive and practical way and how best to prepare and present at interview.
The job skills workshops are fully subsidised by the LCDP programme and as such, are free of charge to eligible applicants and do not affect social welfare entitlements. Those who are eligible will be living in the Avondhu Blackwater Partnership area, are unemployed and on the live register and interested in progressing towards employment.
While priority will be given to those who are on the live register, there are a small percentage of spaces within groups reserved for those who are unemployed less than one year, or unemployed and not on the live register or are in insecure part-time employment.
Further information can be obtained from ABP on 025 33411.
