DRUG SEIZURE SHOCKS RATHCORMAC
The tight knit community of Rathcormac was this week caught up in a major drugs scandal, when 800 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of €640,000 were seized on Monday last in a warehouse.
The secretary of Rathcormac Community Council, Elma Twomey, told The Avondhu that they were all shocked at the news, but that they are confident that the gardai will do a thorough job in their investigation.
The plants were discovered on Monday as part of an ongoing operation to tackle the cultivation, distribution and supply of cannabis and other controlled substances in Munster.
