FERMOY SANDWICH BAR AVOIDS THE CHOP
It has been confirmed this week that O’Brien’s Sandwich Bar in Fermoy is not among one of nine outlets in the O’Brien’s chain to close as part of a rescue plan to save the company, writes Brian Moore.
The company, headed by Brody Sweeney, went into examinership last week with reported liabilities of €6.4m.
A spokesperson for the O’Brien’s Sandwich Bar in Fermoy told The Avondhu that the outlet would not be closing, “We are not one of the nine outlets closing and we plan to continue to trade successfully in Fermoy for the foreseeable future, the spokesperson said."
According to another report O’Brien’s Sandwich Bar franchisees nationwide have reported a significant drop in customer numbers and a fall in turnover of 18% in the first six months of 2009.
