POSITIVE REACTION TO NEW NIGHT LINK BUS SERVICE
There has been a good level of interest in the weekend night link bus service which was recently launched by Avondhu Blackwater Partnership. The service collects passengers at Araglin and Kilworth and delivers them to Corbett Court before arriving in Fermoy town.
The partnership, who already administer the Rural Transport Scheme in the Fermoy area, expanded the service due to a gap in local weekend transport and in response to local demand.
EXPECTED TO GROW
Damien Tobin, the Avondhu Blackwater Partnership coordinator for the Rural Transport Programme, said that there has been a good level of interest and queries coming through their office, which he expected to grow further in time.
“Not many people have booked in for the two Saturdays since we added the route to our schedule.
“However, the first Saturday had a short lead in time so I wasn’t expecting many bookings that Saturday. I did expect more last Saturday but perhaps the reason we didn’t get many travelling was because there was a big funeral in Araglin. I know that even our regular passengers were at the funeral and didn’t travel with us,” Damien told The Avondhu.
THE DETAILS
The weekend night link service leaves Araglin at 7.20pm and Kilworth at 7.40pm before dropping passengers at Corbett Court at 7.45pm and arriving in Fermoy at 7.55pm. The return trip leaves Fermoy at 11pm.
The second service of the night leaves Corbett Court at 10pm, Kilworth at 10.05pm and arrives in Fermoy at 10.15pm with the return leaving Fermoy at 12.45am.
