INDIEPENDENCE COULD BE THE ANTI-OXEGEN
This year’s clash of dates between Indiependence and Oxegen is something which Indiependence organiser Shane Dunne believes “will make rather than break Indie”.
This week, as news broke of the two dates clashing, there was speculation as to how the smaller festival in Mitchelstown will compete against the much bigger festival run by MCD in Naas, but Shane Dunne said that he sees this as an opportunity rather than a threat.
Oxegen took a year out last year and speculation was rife about their return, but now they are back, not in their usual slot in July but instead in the first weekend of August, which is the weekend of Indiependence.
