MICHAEL D. DOWN THE FIELD IN MITCHELSTOWN
Following last week’s Fermoy straw poll on the presidential election, The Avondhu again took to the streets yet again over recent days in an effort to ascertain the mood on the ground in Mitchelstown.
Here again, Martin McGuinness, who was this week confronted on the election trail by the son of an Irish army soldier killed by the IRA, came out on top in The Avondhu poll with 20% of those asked saying they would vote for the Sinn Fein election hopeful.
