MITCHELSTOWN MUSIC FESTIVAL LAUNCHES IN ROCKING GOOD STYLE
A great crowd attended the launch of the Mitchelstown Indiependence Music Festival at Walsh’s Bar on Saturday night last. DJ Pat Ronan was in fine form as he got the crowd moving to tracks from bands that will perform this year, and there was plenty tasty food and sponsors beer to wash it down!
The Avondhu spoke with festival organiser, Shane Dunne for an update on how things are going.
“Ticket sales are going really well online, the special offer tickets at €50 and €70 are only available until the end of the month. They will still be available locally after that but at the full price of €59 and €79.”
So, locals have just one week to avail of the special offer.
TICKET SALES
“Looking at the ticket sales breakdown, they are being bought in Dublin, Galway, Belfast, all over the country really. Hopefully, people around the locality planning on heading to the event will pick up their tickets sooner rather then later as, with a restricted capacity event like this, once weekend tickets are gone we won’t be able to release any more.
"It’s shaping up to be a great weekend and hopefully a high proportion of the people out there enjoying it will be local. The crew are at an advanced stage of planning with the site build requiring a full two weeks so we will be starting the build in the middle of July,” Mr Dunne told The Avondhu.
SILENT DISCO
The organisers are also delighted to announce that they have added a ‘Silent Disco’ to this year’s event. This is an event where people entering the tent are given a set of headphones and can then listen to any one of 3 different DJs.
The atmosphere at a ‘Silent Disco’ is amazing with people listening to many different types of music. More site announcements will be made over the next fortnight along with additional acts to the line-up.
