MUSIC FESTIVAL READY TO ROLL AT NEW VENUE
Boasting a brand new venue and, of course, a new line-up also, the Indiependence will be rolling into Mitchelstown once again over this August bank holiday weekend, writes Brian Moore. IndiePendence 2010 will be held at the deer farm just outside Mitchelstown on the old Dublin road.
“The new venue will be even bigger and better,” organiser, Shane Dunne told The Avondhu.
“We have some great music to look forward to with Reverend & The Makers, The Coronas, Jape, Delorentos, Fred, Codes and The Chapters to name just a few,” Shane said.
Other acts confirmed to play at Indiependence in August include, Wiggle, O Emperor, Fish Go Deep, The Flaws, Yes Cadets, Abedesi Shank, The Riptide Movement, Panama Kings, Hoarsebox, Disconauts, The Loaded Kings, The Vital Spark, Dashka, Heritage Centre, The Funeral Suits, Sweet Jane, Ghostcat, 202’s, The Hot Sprockets, The Parade, Deaf Radio, Death Disco, DC Tempest, Autumn Owls, Ana Gog and Lady Doll.
“We will be announcing more acts and two major headliners over the coming weeks. Tickets will be going on sale at €79 with camping and €59 without. More details will be announced soon, “ Shane Dunne concluded.
Moving from O’Connell Park, where it was quite successful despite some weather related problems last year, represents a big step and quite a change for the organisers.
They are, however, quietly confidant that the 2010 music festival will keep the flag flying, helped, perhaps, by a rub of the green when it comes to better weather!
