Welcome to Cavan, County Cavan

Cavan (An Cabhán) is the county seat of County Cavan.

The town features a castle built by the O'Reilly family, dating from the 13th century.  There is also a Franciscan monastrey in town dating from the same time.

Although the towns has a small popluation, the surrounding areas (up to 16km) brings the population to upwards of 30,000.
