The homeschooling movement began growing in the 1970s, as part of thinkers and leaders suggesting it as an alternative to traditional education systems to urge educational reform. Some pioneers and researchers who wrote about this are John Holt and Dorothy and Raymond Moore—According to the National Home Education Research Institute, there are now more than 2 million children being homeschooled in the U.S alone.
