Welcome
Welcome back to the MTU Arena for what promises to be an electrifying clash in the quarter-final of the league. We are now truly in the business end of the season and it gives me great pleasure to welcome all supporters, players, coaches, and officials joining us for today's pivotal encounter.
As we prepare for today we welcome, Killester, one of the toughest opponents in the league, we anticipate a fiercely competitive match, where every possession counts and every basket matters.
On behalf of Ballincollig Basketball Club, I thank you for your continued support and dedication. Lets bring the noise and and make this quarter-final clash a memorable chapter in our club's illustrious history.
Finally a shout out to our U20 men's team who have their own quarter final match up this weekend. Many of these young men are on the Super league team today but have to travel to Dublin tomorrow to face Eanna. We wish them safe travels and good result!

Player Spotlight - dYlan Corkery
Dylan is one of our longest serving members of the mens National League set up in Ballincollig.
Dylan along with his Sister Amy (Fr.Mathews SL women) and father Brian and mother Sharon are a big basketball family and have all contributed to Ballincollig Basketball down through the years.
Dylan studied in UL in Biochemistry and was travelling earlier in the season in Australia, he now works full time in Clonmel and commutes everyday for training which is a massive commitment.
Dylan has a very decorated award cabinet for a young talent at only 24 years of age:
Dylan won two schools all Irelands with Colaiste Choilm 2016 & 2017 and was the MVP of the schools final in 2017. Dylan was also voted the U19 schools player of the year 2016.
After this Dylan went to UL and continued playing for Ballincollig, and his hard work was rewarded when he made the u20 Irish team in 2017 and played in the European championship in Romania
Dylan is a pivotal member of the club and won national cup titles in 2018,2019 & 2020. He also won a Champions Trophy winner 2019, national league winner 2020, national league young player of the year 2018,2019 & 2020 the only player in Irish basketball history to win this individual award for 3 consecutive years.
Dylan then was rewarded with his first senior Irish cap in a friendly against Luxembourg 2019.
Let’s not forget that unforgettable Superleague win in the 22/23 season
Dylan’s list of achievements are something every young player would be so proud of, and we are all immensely proud of Dylan and his contribution and service to Ballincollig Basketball Club.

Our PAWsome community of Puppy Raisers support our pups in their initial stages of training
Puppy Raising is an essential foundation for a pup’s future success as a Guide or Assistance Dog. This full-time volunteer role involves a pup living in your home from 9 weeks up to 14 months old.
Your role will be to help them with their first steps of training, so they are well-mannered and socialised.
Experience with obedience training dogs would be an advantage. However, a designated Puppy Raising Supervisor will provide you with the training and support necessary to educate your puppy.
On-going support and training are provided with veterinary fees and food covered by IGDB.
At approximately 14 months they move into our National Training Centre with our highly skilled trainers and the hard work towards graduating as a Guide or Assistance Dog begins.
What are the benefits of being a Puppy Raiser?
The challenge and reward of seeing a puppy develop in your home.
The satisfaction that you have had a pivotal role in providing Guide and Assistance Dogs that enable people with a vision impairment or families of a child with autism to enjoy the same freedom and independence as everyone else.
The opportunity to learn new dog training skills from our Puppy Raising Supervisors.
