Ive had an issue with a popping noise coming from the front end when the truck takes certain jolts from potholes or dips in road. its not constant but sounds like something is loose and its not specific to one side. i took it to local Ram dealer and they said it was just the bump ...

Check the front axle u-joints. you check them by simply crawling under the front (no need to jack it up) and placing a pry bar between the u-joint and the steering knuckle, pry up and down. Using pliers and a hammer,remove the grease cap from hub. Remove the cotter key and nut from axle,pull out slowly and remove outer bearing. then remove hub from axle.
