RMLA is a Team of Professional Planning Consultants whose senior staff have been practising in the Irish planning system for 20 years. We provide the experience and expertise to guide our clients through the intricacies of the Irish planning system including the planning process and planning and environmental legislation, as well as through the requirements of the Public Spending Code and funding application processes.

Our staff have a track record of managing multi-disciplinary Teams in the successful delivery of large-scale public and private sector projects. This includes working on behalf of Local Authorities managing the preparation of spatial, strategic, economic and Town Centre First plans and strategies across Ireland.

​At RMLA we provide an integrated approach to service delivery, providing consultancy advice across all stages of a project.
Our planning consultancy services include the provision of planning opinions and strategic planning advice to inform estate and property management decisions, engagement with the plan-making process including submissions on land-use zoning objectives, the coordination of planning applications including environmental impact assessments, undertaking Retail Impact Assessments, and the management of compliance submissions. RMLA also represents clients and provides professional advice across the multiple areas of the planning system including enforcement proceedings, Oral Hearings, and Judicial Review proceedings. We also work with Local Authorities preparing spatial, strategic, and economic plans and strategies on their behalf and managing projects through the Part 8 process. In addition, we provide funding advice, preparing funding applications on behalf of Local Authorities, and for projects that have secured funding, we prepare the business cases and reports required to bring them through the Public Spending Code Gates.

Our three Directors have almost 60 years of experience between them, with key members of our Team having a long-standing working relationship that ensures consistent high-quality work. Our extensive collective experience covers the spectrum of planning consultancy service requirements of the public and private sectors, with senior staff members both specialists, as well as leaders, in specific areas of planning including retail, estate management, healthcare and spatial planning. We also offer expertise and experience in the complimentary areas of Economic and Business Case Advice and Funding Advice, meaning as a Team we can provide the consultancy advice required to plan the future of an area, secure funding for those projects identified in the plans we produce and bring the projects through the Gates of the Public Spending Code to delivery on site. This is a unique value add of our Team not only in terms of our skillset and service offer but also in the understanding and insight working on behalf of Local Authorities brings to our Team across all our work.
