Welcome to Skerries

Skerries (Na Sceirí, meaning a group of small coastal islands) is a seaside town in North Dublin, now part of County Fingal.

The town is built between the surrounding hills of North Fingal and the low lying beaches of Skerries.

Historically, Skerries has been a thriving fishing port but in the 20th century it has become a resort town with golf, sailing and beaches amoung its attractions.

Fingal's poll-topper in the General Election is playing a key role in the race to establish a new Government as Louise O'Reilly joins the Sinn Féin negotiating team talking initially to parties on the left in an effort to form a left-led coalition.

In a meeting of the Fianna Fáil parliamnetary part last Thursday, the party voted not to negotiate with Sinn Féin on forming a new government and newly re-elected Fianna Fáil TD, Darragh O'Brien has explained why.
