Fermoy students become 'Agri Aware'
Students from Colaiste an Chraoibhin, Fermoy were among the large attendance at the Agri Aware ‘Farm Walk and CAP Talk’ event at Clonakilty Agricultural College last week.
The Clonakilty Farm Walk and CAP Talk was one of seven events run by Agri Aware in conjunction with Teagasc, the Irish Agricultural Science Teachers Association and Agri Aware’s meat and dairy industry patrons. It was attended by students from all over Cork and Kerry.
Students had an opportunity to learn about the various agri-food sectors and the importance of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in delivering quality, safe, traceable and affordable food for consumers. The impact of CAP on the agri-food sector and the Irish economy was also communicated.
