Since it’s foundation was in 1864, this band has grown to be one of the most famous and successful in Wales. They have performed at many prestigious venues and have made many appearances on radio and television. The band ‘s conductor Mr John Glyn Jones studied music under Andrew Lloyd-Weber’s dad, and has been conducting the band since 1991. This visit to Ireland is part of their 150th Anniversary celebrations and will be a very busy special year for the band including concerts, T.V. appearances, C.D. recording, exhibition and school workshops – Visiting Birr will be one of the highlights!
