Set in Dublin in the late 1990s the play, which centres around two characters, is both gripping and funny. Although the plot is built around an age-old scenario, O'Reilly's sharp dialogue and excellent characterisation give his play a taut freshness that is utterly absorbing. The story is fairly commonplace - a chance meeting at a New Year's party results in an unexpected pregnancy. How Tim and Jane deal with this situation is alternately funny, sad and ultimately tragic.
