140K INVESTED IN 3D CINEMA FOR FERMOY
Fermoy Youth Centre is pulling out all the stops to bring people closer to the latest in cinematic innovation with a new €140k 3D cinema which will screen all the current films.
“This is much more than a cinema, it will have full surround sound and an alternative content so people can watch opera, matches, children can play their X-Boxs, schools can use the 18ft screen for education, it is multi functional so will be worth every cent, ” Fermoy Youth Centre manager, Kieran Barry told The Avondhu.
Kieran added that they have done a lot of research to source the best product.
“We are proud to say that we are buying Irish as we feel it is more important than ever to support local business. We are happy that we are getting the best equipment and we feel that is really is a major investment for the town of Fermoy.”
“We are hoping to have this up and running within the next eight weeks. People will no longer feel they have to travel to Mahon Point to see the latest film, we will have it all here so we hope then people will support us and ‘Try Fermoy First’ before going elsewhere,” Kieran concluded.
Cllr Noel McCarthy said it was great news for the town: “I must compliment the people of the youth centre for all their hard work, and the money they are investing in the new cinema. Now, it is up to the people of Fermoy to ensure they come along and support it, and I wish the youth centre the very best of success, “ Cllr McCarthy concluded.
