72 PATIENTS LEFT HIGH AND DRY AS WATER SUPPLY FAILS
In the modern day we live in, it is hard to imagine that 72 patients in Fermoy Community Hospital were relying on people to bring them water in buckets and drums, yet this is the reality they were faced with on two occasions this week.
The issue was brought to light by Cllr Tadhg O’Donovan at this week’s Fermoy Town Council meeting, when he pointed out that the pipes supplying water to the hospital had broken three times since Saturday, leaving 72 patients and more than 100 staff members without water for hours.
