DOORS OF OPPORTUNITY IN LISMORE
Lismore artist/writer and photographer, Corina Duyn recently came up with the novel idea of making a concertina/accordion style booklet of photographs of various doors in the town.
Corina’s selection of sixteen ‘Doors of Lismore,’ printed in colour, are featured in two handy sized picture booklets which fold down and slip into a little sleeve are available from the Lismore Photographic Gallery in Main Street.
“On sale for under ten euro each, they are great value and would make an ideal gift idea for passing tourists,” remarked Corina.
“On the front cover is a photo of a door of a house in New Street, (known locally as ‘Botany,’) and locals might like to pop into the gallery and check out if their door is also in the booklet and would, perhaps, like to send one as a nostalgic reminder of Lismore to a relative abroad,” suggested Ms Duyn with a smile.
Lismore Photographic Gallery, which opened last year, now also sells a variety of Irish made arts and crafts, handmade canes, wood turned bowls and cheese knives, Irish cookbooks, photographic books, handmade Irish postcards, and photographic images, as well as poetry books by local poets etc. It also has a fully equipped B+W darkroom available for hire.
“More booklets will be available in due course featuring different images connected with Lismore such as Lismore trees and animals,” added Corina.
