Election reps quizzed by retired teachers group in Fermoy
Members of the Retired Primary School Teachers' Association got an opportunity recently to quiz candidates in the upcoming local elections, on issues pertinent to retirees. The session was organised by mayor Olive Corcoran and took place recently in the council chambers in Fermoy.
Labour election candidates Noel McCarthy and Frank O'Flynn, as well as town councillor Seamus Coleman, who outlined Sinn Fein's policies, heard from the members on a variety of issues and in turn, addressed them on their stance.
Town clerk Pauline Moriarty provided refreshments for the visitors afterwards. Following the Q&A session, the mayor said that it had been a useful exercise, which she was pleased the members found very informative and enlightening.
