FERMOY CAT ATTACKS THE WORST SEEN IN 30 YEARS
A vicious attack on two cats in the St Bernard’s area of Fermoy this week has been described by a dedicated cat welfare worker as the worst that she has seen in her 30 years of volunteering.
Nuala McNamara of the Fermoy Animal Shelter has dubbed the attacks on the animals on Friday evening as sinister and described a horrific and bloody scene when she was summoned to help.
“It was my son Jason who saw the first cat, he was on the way to work and thought that it had been knocked down and ...... .
“I thought it was unusual that there wasn’t a hair out of place anywhere else on the body, and I knew straight away that it hadn’t been hit by a car,” she added. These suspicions were confirmed just a few minutes later when Nuala was called to a second cat with ....... .
“These were two beautiful well fed fat little black cats and I have no doubt that they were two family pets. Even in his pain, the one I am caring for purred for the first time on Monday night and I must say, it was .... . "
