FERMOY FLOOD RELIEF PROJECT TO START EARLY NEXT YEAR
Construction on phase two of flood relief works in Fermoy should start early in 2012 with €6m put aside for the project in next year’s budget estimates, the Office of Public Works has revealed this week.
In a statement released to The Avondhu on Wednesday evening, the OPW confirmed that Phase 2 of the Munster Blackwater Drainage Scheme is currently going through the confirmation process, which will give final statutory and financial approval for the scheme to commence.
“Following confirmation, OPW will be in a position to appoint the main contractor for the scheme and it is expected that construction will commence early in 2012,” the OPW revealed.
