FUNERAL FACILITY AT FERMOY HOSPITAL TO CEASE
St Patrick Hospital in Fermoy will stop providing the funeral removal facility as of August 10th ,2008. The hospital has been unique within the HSE for providing this service for many years.
Fermoy Mayor Tadhg O’Donovan, who is also involved with the hospital, confirmed to The Avondhu that the announcement has been on the cards for a long time as “the hospital was never designed for that purpose” and “it was inconvenient to many users of the hospital.”
Mayor O’Donovan views the current development as “confirmation that the building of the new 30-bed unit is starting. There will be a new car park on the right, not adjacent to the church, while the existing car park will be covered by the building”.
