Fermoy CDYS seeking volunteers for busy year ahead
CDYS Youth Project Fermoy is actively seeking volunteers to assist in their many activities and programmes, run for young people between the ages of 12 and 18.
The local branch of Cloyne Diocesan Youth Services is located at 2 Fitzgerald Place, Fermoy. The centre provides various after-school activities such as sports, arts and crafts, developmental educational programmes and music tuition. They also work with young people on a one-to-one basis, helping support them through difficulties and referring them to counselling etc., if needed.
According to youth worker, Garry McDonnell, volunteering with CDYS is about much more than ‘just helping out’. It allows people to form positive, long-term relationships with young people and to help them to get to where they aspire to be.
