GREAT EQUESTRIAN DAY OUT FOR VISITING CHERNOBYL CHILDREN
Last Friday the host families and the visiting children from Chernobyl enjoyed a day out at Simon and Siobhan Beirne, Fermoy Equestrian Centre. Simon and his helpers had the ponies tackled and ready for the visiting children when they arrived.
The experience and fun that the kids had could not be measured, but by the smiles on each of their faces they were all enjoying the day with the horses.
“Simon also had arranged with Kieran Geary of Avondhu Bouncy Castles to have a bouncy castle in place for the kids while they waited for their turn on the ponies. Many thanks to Kieran for facilitating the kids and host families.
"Without the help and support from Simon and his crew in giving up their time the kids would not have had such an enjoyable evening. While the children visiting the area are entertained with their host families, it is nice for them to meet up as a group regularly and with Fermoy Equestrian Centre this was possible without adding extra expense for entertainment.
"A special thanks to Isabella Fenton, Siobhain Beirne, Andrew Beirne, Moya Gubbins, Emma O’Shea, Simon Beirne and Avril Beirne, who spent the evening with the children and the ponies,” Ken Barry told The Avondhu.
