HOSPITAL FUNDRAISERS DEMAND ANSWERS FROM HSE
The group behind the raising of more than €600,000 for the community hospital in Fermoy have this week called on the HSE to explain why the number of beds at the facility has been slashed to just 12.
The chairman of the St Patrick’s Hospital Fermoy Fundraising Committee, Tom Higgins has warned that questions needed to be answered, emphasising that the people of Fermoy and its hinterland who raised so much money for the unit, now deserve answers.
“The people out there who subscribed so generously to the fundraising and helped to raise €600,000 deserve to know why our new hospital that was meant to be 20 beds has now finished up with just 12,” Tom Higgins told The Avondhu.
