JOBS BOOST FOR FERMOY
Fermoy continues to be the lynchpin for Amber Oil as the company continues to expand its operations across the country as the company’s flagship state-of-the-art facility is set to open in the town in the next few weeks, writes Brian Moore.
65 new jobs are to be created as the company is set to invest €7m in upgrading and expanding its network of service stations, creating both full-time and part-time positions around the country.
CEO Liam Fitzgerald said the company was aiming for continued expansion through acquisitions and development over the next 18 months.
“We have invested €7 million in our network over the past twelve months and are already starting to see positive results. Our aim is to continue to invest in our network through acquisition and development over the next 18 months. We believe that there is real value in the market now and we intend to capitalise on it,” Mr Fitzgerald told The Avondhu.
“We’re at an advanced stage of negotiations with a number of independent operators at the moment. We hope to be able to add an additional 50 jobs to the network over the next year, bringing the group workforce to 365 people,” said Mr Fitzgerald.
Amber Oil has 23 outlets and is currently close to completing its 8,900sq ft flagship facility on Fermoy’s northside, located on the Dublin Road entrance to the town at the corner of Pike Road.
