MAYOR ‘VERY UNHAPPY’ WITH IDA ATTITUDE TO FERMOY
Mayor of Fermoy Michael Hanley has this week called on the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton, to intervene with the IDA on the town’s behalf.
Speaking this week, Mayor Hanley said that he was very unhappy with the IDA’s attitude towards Fermoy and the lack of effort being put in to bring jobs to the town, which, he said, had left swathes of high quality commercial and industrial unit space lying empty. Pointing to a recent intervention by Minister Bruton in relation to the 800 new Sky Ireland jobs, Michael Hanley urged him to weigh into the argument for more job creation in Fermoy.
“I would like to compliment Minister Bruton on his timely intervention on the Sky jobs and call on him to do the same with the town of Fermoy,” Michael Hanley suggested.
