New Fermoy store for health and fitness seekers

There's one message owner Marek Krochmal is anxious to get across about his new store - 'Vitamin-shop' on Lower Patrick Street - and that's that his products are not just for body builders. In fact, most of the products he sells are dietary supplements, vitamins and foodstuffs for active people and those involved in sports.
Marek has lived in Fermoy since 2006. He worked in Kepak for five years before deciding to open his own business. "I wanted to bring something different to Fermoy," he says of his store which is part of the country-wide Vitamin-shop franchise chain. The Fermoy shop is one of only two in the county - the other being in Cork city.
In common with the other Vitamin-shop stores, Marek stocks a wide range of vitamins and supplements including special vitamins for babies as well as products like whey protein and low carb nutrition products to replenish the body after exercise. He also carries the weight-loss aid Raspberry Ketone which is claimed to curb the appetite and speed up the metabolism to accelerate weight loss. "It's hugely popular for weight loss in the US and the US product, which I stock, is best," Marek says.
The shop has been open for two months now and the most enjoyable aspect of the job, Marek says, is talking to customers about the various products he sells and giving them advice on their use.
