QUINN STAYING IN FERMOY
Quinn-healthcare have once again moved to quash rumours that the company is to pull out of Fermoy to move to its parent group’s new facility in Little Island, Cork.
Media reports this week speculated that up to 350 jobs will be created in the new facility which will house some 600 Quinn employees – sparking some local fears that the remaining numbers would be made up of workers currently in Fermoy.
This week Donal Clancy, Quinn-healthcare general manager, once again committed the company’s future to Fermoy, highlighting that the new complex in the East Gate Business and Retail Park is to cater for the whole Quinn Insurance Group.
Mr Clancy added that the announcement of the new Quinn Insurance complex is good news for the whole of East Cork.
“We are opening our new building in East Gate and we hope, over the next few years, to have 500 people employed there. It will serve as a base for our business in Ireland and the UK and will mainly deal with claims processing,” Mr Clancy told The Avondhu, adding that the new complex will also serve as a retail centre for all Quinn Insurance products including healthcare, car, home and commercial insurance products.
“We are staying in Fermoy and we now welcome all customers to our new retail spot where they can avail of the best value in the market. The opening of this complex is great news for the East Cork region,” Mr Clancy concluded.
