RAY ENDS HIS JOURNEY IN FERMOY
Forty years of public service were brought to a close in Fermoy this week as Fermoy town clerk Ray Owens finished his working journey with a special function in the town hall.
Ray, who has worked as the town clerk in Fermoy for the last four and a half years, retired from Cork County Council after almost 40 years of service including 10 years as town clerk in Kinsale and 25 years in county hall in various roles.

Ray went straight into the public service at Cork County Council from school and, while he admits that retirement will be a big change, he is relishing the challenge ahead.
