SOCIAL HOUSING APPLICANTS TO MOVE IN AT SUTTON'S COURT
30 apartments at Sutton’s Court in Mitchelstown, that have lain idle for a protracted period, are to be put into use over the next three to four weeks for social housing.
Tim Porter of the voluntary housing organisation, Cluid this week confirmed to The Avondhu that applicants from the Cork County Council housing waiting list would be accommodated in the units at Sutton’s Court.
“The builders are currently finalising a snag list and, once that’s signed off, the successful applicants will then be housed at the apartments in Sutton’s Court", Mr Porter said.
He also confirmed that the applicant selection process was a joint one between Cluid and Cork County Council. The flagship development, which was constructed before the building boom came to a sudden halt, also incorporates a number of commercial units that have proven very difficult to shift in a difficult economic climate.
Cluid is a dedicated housing organisation that, through the provision of housing, aims to facilitate the creation of homes and communities where people want to live and settle.
