Successful Fermoy Rose Festival sees local groups benefit
The recent Fermoy Rose Festival proved to be a great success. As well as providing a boost for the town, it also raised funds for both Fermoy Community First Response Unit and Avondhu Boys & Girls Boxing Club.
Representatives from these organisations were in T.J. Goodtyme's last Thursday night to accept their share of proceeds from the event.
INAUGURAL SUCCESS
Festival chairman, Timmy Flynn presented Ken Barry (Fermoy Community First Response Unit) with a cheque. Ken said the unit were very appreciative of the money, adding that it would be put to good and productive use. For the presentation to Avondhu Boxing & Girls Boxing Club, Timmy was the man accepting the donation from Kevin Corcoran, who runs the popular T.J. Goodtyme's. Timmy, a well known D.J. is one of the main driving forces behind this progressive boxing club.
Timmy thanked Kevin and everyone involved with the event, the festival proved what could be achieved when people worked together, Timmy said.
