TRIBUTES FLOW AFTER SUDDEN DEATH OF FERMOY COUNCILLOR
The town of Fermoy was left reeling on Wednesday evening as news broke of the sudden death of popular Fine Gael town councillor, Aileen Pyne.
Cllr Pyne was found dead at her home on the Duntahane Road in the late morning, and news of her unexpected passing left the town in a palpable state of shock.
Tributes to the hugely respected councillor have recalled a dedicated servant to her area, and someone who loved Fermoy and its people, a real lady and a friend to anyone who needed her.
Mayor Michael Hanley spoke of the absolute shock around Fermoy as the news emerged at lunchtime on Wednesday, and of a lady that will be sorely missed in the council chamber in Fermoy.
