VANDALS ATTACK UNOCCUPIED HOUSE
An unoccupied house at the Rathcarrig Estate on the Pike Road in Fermoy has been subjected to severe vandalism, to the concern of residents there. A nearby resident told The Avondhu this week that kids, understood to be from the locality, were getting into the house after the previous occupants left two years ago, but the council came and boarded up the back door and window.
They then proceeded to wrench open the door of the garden shed and threw the contents around the garden, including paint which they daubed on the garden wall. They also damaged a garden pillar at the front of the house.
