MITCHELSTOWN ALL SET FOR BIGGEST EVER PARADE
Preparations for this year’s St. Patrick’s Day celebrations are almost complete in Mitchelstown. Leading the parade will be Jim Skinner P.C. along with Queen of the Galtees, Mary O’Dwyer and former queen, Kitty Boland.
“The parade kicks off at 1pm sharp. After last year’s great success the parade this year will be event bigger and better. So come along early and get a good spot,” chairman of the Festival of the Galtees committee, Michael White told The Avondhu.
There will be prizes for the best float as well as the best shop window and the best pub displays.
“The judging for the best window and pub display will take place on Tuesday March 16, so it’s time to get working on your display,” Michael White said.
“This is a community effort and we would like to encourage and invite everybody to take part,” Michael White concluded.
