Welcome to Charleville

Charleville or Rath Luirc (Rath Luirc or An Rath ) is a town in north County Cork, situated in Ireland's Golden Vale, near the border with County Limerick.

Charleville's name originates from 'Charles Town' showing the town's 17^thcentury foundation. The name was Gaelicised in the 1920s to Rath Luirc but this has been very sparsely used since. Significant industries in the town include Kerry Co-Op and the booming construction and services sector. The main Tralee-Cork-Dublin railway line pass through the town.
