TREVOR/BOWEN SUMMER SCHOOL HITS MITCHELSTOWN THIS WEEKEND
Mitchelstown looks forward to greeting hundreds of literary buffs to the town this weekend as the local literary society hosts its 5th annual Trevor/Bowen Summer School.
One of the highlights of the event will be the screening of the 1990s BBC documentary, Hidden Ground in which William Trevor can be seen chatting with local people in Mitchelstown, Youghal and Skibbereen.
Ticket holders on the opening night (Friday) are reminded that they are invited to a cheese and wine reception in The Firgrove Hotel at 7.30pm, prior to the opening event.
All events are in The Firgrove Hotel with the exception of the Susan Osborn lecture, ‘Elizabeth Bowen’s Ireland’ which is being held in St Colman’s Church, Farahy, Kildorrery at 4.30pm on Saturday.
Please note booking for this event is essential due to limited seating in St Colman’s. Patrons can avail of a weekend ticket at just €60 or individual tickets at €15 each.
