Welcome to Ballina, County Mayo

Ballina (Béal an Átha) is the largest town in County Mayo. It lies at the mouth of the River Moy near Killala Bay, in the Moy valley, with the Ox Mountain range to the east and the Nephin Beg Mountains to the west.   Ballina is on the Mayo side of the Mayo-Sligo county border.

Ballina now incorporates Belleek, which pre-dates the town and can be dated back to the late 15th.  Belleek Castle was built in 1831 and also in the town are remains of an Augustinian friary founded about 1375.

Ballina is widely regarded as the foremost salmon angling resort in Europe.
