Carlow artist Siobhán Jordan’s work is inspired by the darker world of fairy tales and folklore, tall tales and short stories. She collects and examines ephemera, patterns, storybooks, cherished songs and remembered prose. These, along with layers of paper and paint are built upon forming compositions and landscapes. This process is wholly intuitive and her work evolves from play, feeding from a world of possibility and freedom.

Birr Theatre & Arts Centre is delighted to be once more taking part of this year’s Culture Night with a performance by the multi award winning Tullamore Academy Chamber Choir. Consisting of 21 local choral scholars they have taken the choral world by storm with an innovative and eclectic collection of choral music, especially chosen for their competitive show-stopping nature.
The Kerman Dance Company from France will also perform and will present solos and duets. This will be a really extraordinary experience for the visitors with the short dance pieces positioned around the theatre as part of Culture Night.
