When The David Ayers Quartet performs, no one needs to ask!
The Quartet is led by accomplished American guitarist David Ayers and superbly accompanied by some of Irelands# finest musicians in Padraig Whelan (Piano,Vocals), Ken Nolan (Acoustic Doublebass) and Ger Farrell (Drums and Percussion).
Individually, they are at the top of their game, with the kind of taste and expertise that can only be achieved by many years experience. Its as a group however, where the sparks really fly.
Their sound is inspired by the great 50#s and 60#s #Blue Note# era jazz groups and whether they are playing the classic American songbook of beautiful standards or a bluesy, soul tinged original, it always swings like mad.
