ANGRY MOTORIST SLAMS LOCAL PARKING CHAOS
A local man, working in Mitchelstown, has criticised the standard of parking in the town.
“It’s insanity,” the man claimed, “On certain days if you park for too long on the street you get a ticket even if your car or van is parked well within the white lines. I have never seen or heard of any of the bad parking in the town being punished.”
The irate local went on to describe ‘chaos’ as people double park along Lower Cork Street.
“Another example would be the other day when a woman just stuck the nose of her car into a space, leaving the back sticking out into the path of traffic,” the man added, “This road is on the main Cork-Dublin road. For this sort of carry on to continue is madness.”
The angry motorist urged traffic enforcement to clamp down on poor parking and able-bodied people who use disabled spaces rather than focus their attention on cars that go beyond the two hour limit.
“People should be encouraged to park their car and spend time in Mitchelstown,” the man concluded, “rather than fear getting a ticket for staying here too long and be worried about negotiating the chaos of bad parking and awful traffic manners that seem to thrive in this town.”
