BUSINESS BOOST FOR MITCHELSTOWN
There’s an air of increased confidence for the future in Mitchelstown this week with the news that three local enterprises are planning to expand, writes Brian Moore.
The town’s landmark hotel, The Firgrove, is seeking planning permission to add a two storey extension with 18 new bedrooms and meeting rooms. The plans also include a provision for a gym and extra car parking spaces.
Meanwhile, at the Corpus Christi Nursing Home plans are also in train to expand the facilities, “We have applied for permission to add 10 extra bedrooms, this expansion will also mean three to four new jobs and we are delighted to be able to move our business forward,” Michael O’Shea, proprietor of the nursing home said.
A planning application for a new car park has also been submitted at the Livinghealth Clinic.
“There is a need for us to expand. When we opened two years ago we felt we had more than enough car parking facilities.
"However, now, with the range and the numbers of people accessing our services here at the Livinghealth Clinic, we need to add at least another 30 car parking spaces and we have applied for planning permission to do this,” general manager, Frank Doheny told The Avondhu.
