CBS Primary Mitchelstown triumph in Ballygown NS quiz
Quiz teams from Mitchelstown CBS Primary have been savouring the sweet taste of victory since Friday last, when they went to Killavullen to take part in the Ballygown National School quiz.
Overall, seventy teams took part from different schools and the standard was very high. Five teams from the CBS Primary entered, three in the 5th and 6th class category and two in the 3rd and 4th class category.
The 5th and 6th class team made up of Ben O'Sullivan, Conor Rutherford, Keith O'Connor and Conor Davern emerged victorious by a margin of just two points. Then the 3rd and 4th class team of Eoghan O'Sullivan, Shane Cotter, Sean Hanrahan and Pierce Burke were runners-up in their section. Well done to both teams, this was an excellent achievement.
The school's other teams who were in the mix throughout consisted of Seamus Coleman, Jack Finn, Tommy Maher, Taylor O'Donnell, Michael O'Gorman, Rory Rutherford, Darragh O'Callaghan and James Crotty in the 5th/6th class category; while the 3rd/4th class grouping were represented by Cormac Keane-Hyland, Gavin O'Donoghue, Declan Murphy and Colin McNamara.
CBS Primary staff congratulated all of the students involved and also thanked Ballygown NS for organising the very well run event.
