CHRISTMAS GETS A LOT CHEERIER FOR 5,000 EURO WINNER
The winner of The Avondhu’s 30th anniversary Christmas giveaway, James Lane from Fermoy, accompanied by his wife Marion, collected his cheque for €5,000 at the newspaper’s Mitchelstown office this week.
Approximately 2,000 Avondhu readers sent in their vouchers and entry forms over the past few weeks and the winning form was drawn at the Donal Ring Concert in Kilworth on Thursday, December 11.
When asked how he would spend the money James said, “A good Christmas first and then a nice holiday next year. This couldn’t come at a better time as I have been out of work for the last 12 months. Christmas just got a whole lot cheerier, thanks to The Avondhu."
