COMMUNITY COUNCIL AGM CANCELLED AT SHORT NOTICE
The annual general meeting of Mitchelstown Community Council, which was due to take place this week, was unexpectedly cancelled at short notice.
The exact reason for the cancellation could not be confirmed but is thought to have occurred due to an issue that arose in relation to the notice given for holding the AGM.
A new date has been set for the annual general meeting, which will now take place on Tuesday, March 30 at 8pm in The Firgrove Hotel.
“As part of standard procedures the public must be informed 21 days before an AGM takes place. We have placed an advert in this week’s Avondhu announcing the new date for the AGM and we also want to advise everybody that this is an open meeting and all are invited,” community council secretary, Liam O’Doherty, told The Avondhu.
