DEVELOPMENT MANAGER RESIGNS
The resignation, as announced this week of the Mitchelstown business development manager, Paul Swift is being seen locally as a blow to the fortunes of the town at a time of great economic uncertainty, writes Brian Moore.
The development manager tendered his resignation and is to pursue another career abroad. Paul, who began his work in Mitchelstown over two years ago, will be taking up a new position in Bahrain.
“I came to Mitchelstown on a two year contact and have enjoyed my time here. Now it is time for me to move on to other projects and I want to thank the people of the town for all their help and support over the last two years,” Paul Swift told The Avondhu.
Mitchelstown Forum chairman, Tom Whelton paid tribute to the work Paul has done, “We are very disappointed that Paul is leaving. He has done a terrific job while he has been here in Mitchelstown and I want to wish him all the best for the future,” Tom Whelton said.
Chairman of Mitchelstown Business Association, Eamonn O’Brien is also disappointed to hear that Paul Swift will be leaving Mitchelstown, “I want to wish Paul and his wife well for the future. Paul helped a lot of people with their businesses while he was here and I hope he will be replaced as soon as possible,” Eamonn O’Brien said.
The departure of Paul Swift is an obvious loss to Mitchelstown and all eyes now will be on the speed at which a replacement is found.
