DRAGON STAR PREDICTS BRIGHT FUTURE AT MITCHELSTOWN SEMINAR
Presidential hopeful, successful entrepreneur and RTE ‘Dragon’, Sean Gallagher enthralled a packed Firgrove Hotel in Mitchelstown last week as he outlined his vision and business philosophy at ‘The Way Forward’ business seminar.
Mr Gallagher told the gathering that he was confident of a bright future for all those who are in business in Ireland today.
“We must remain confident in ourselves, remember your are more than your business, while we in Ireland brand people failures when their businesses fail. I salute people who got up went out and started a business, employed people, paid their mortgages, put their kids through college, who out of their own passion and desire went out and made a contribution, we need these people back running businesses as soon as possible,” he said.
A BIG SUCCESS
The Way Forward seminar, which was organized in conjunction with the Mitchelstown Forum and Ballyhoura Development Ltd., aims to encourage the local business community to work alongside entrepreneurs and business students to set up their own businesses.
Mitchelstown Business development manager, Siobhan Finn was delighted with the response to the event: “The seminar was a real success with excellent feedback and some very positive suggestions for future actions coming out of the night. I’m reliably informed that this event was one of the best attended in Mitchelstown over the last twenty years.”
MOST ENCOURAGING
“I think that sends out a very positive message that the people of Mitchelstown are committed to the future development of the town and are prepared to come together to do what it takes for the benefit of the town. It was most encouraging to see such a good representation from the community of Mitchelstown last Wednesday night, ” she said.
Sean Gallagher was well received by all those who attended the seminar with many people hoping to gain from his expertise and knowledge.
“Seventy percent of the world’s most successful businesses were started during a recession, there is no better time for an entrepreneur to take a chance."
DOING THINGS RIGHT
"All of us if we take risks may fail; it is that openness to failure that allows us to success. That’s what separates entrepreneurs from everybody else. Management is about doing things right. Leadership is about doing the right thing. It’s no longer just about management. It’s about leadership,” Mr Gallagher told the seminar.
Many of those attending the seminar had travelled far to hear Sean Gallagher speak.
“For my part, I was delighted to have been able to facilitate such an event for the Mitchelstown business community and beyond. Attendees travelled from as far away as West Cork, South Kerry and Limerick," commented Siobhan Finn.
"This event sent out a very positive message to the wider community that the people of Mitchelstown are prepared to come together to work for the future economic development of the community. I look forward to announcing the details of the next seminar, which is scheduled for early September and I would encourage anybody who is interested in hearing more to contact me at their convenience,” Ms Finn concluded.
