HOT STUFF AS GAUGE HITS 19 CELSIUS!
With the clocks due to go forward this weekend it seems as if the time may have come to pack away those heavy winter coats, and dust off the sunglasses as the temperatures hit an amazing 19 degrees celsius in Fermoy on this Wednesday.
The temperature gauge over Walsh’s Pharmacy read 19 degrees Celsius at lunchtime on Wednesday. Mike Walsh, owner of the pharmacy, said that the temperature reading is accurate.
“The probe is in the shade behind the unit and wall to ensure the reading is correct. And we have it tested every six months to make sure,” he told The Avondhu.
So, is this the start of our summer already? Or are people being a little too premature in donning the July/August attire in March? Maybe not, as the weather looks set to remain dry throughout the country for the remainder of this month.
It is also predicted that this pattern will continue into the month of April as high pressure has dominated most of the weather in Ireland for 2011 so far. The forecast seems to indicate that there will probably be some showers breaking out at times in the month of April but there will also be a lot of dry weather for many parts of Ireland too.
